Belle Vale
Located in south-east Liverpool Belle Vale was the largest pre-fabricated housing estate in Britain with more than 1,000 houses built to provide affordable accommodation for people whose homes were destroyed during the Blitz. Former Tesco boss Sir Terry Leahy grew up in a prefab maisonette in Belle Vale and was a pupil at Our Lady of Assumption. In 2006 he agreed to become president of the Belle Vale Prefab Project.
