Black Friday 2023: Amazon's £18 straighteners that are 'one of the best'

Amazon shoppers are urging others to buy an £18 pair of straighteners that have been reduced as part of the site's Black Friday deals.

The Remington Shine Therapy Advanced Ceramic Hair Straighteners are reduced by 78% and are down from £79.99. The ceramic plates come in a light blue shade and are infused with Moroccan Argan Oil for "extra shine".

The straighteners have an adjustable temperature setting so users can adjust the heat to limit potential hair damage. Plus, if you're in a rush, then the straighteners won't take up much of your time as they only need 15 seconds to heat up - and automatically shut off after 60 minutes. The product also comes in a silk white bag so you can take them anywhere you go.

Shoppers have left glowing reviews for the product with an average rating of 4.7 out of five stars and more than 25,000 reviews. In the review section, Chardonnay wrote: "I really like these straighteners I have had so many and these are one the best and they are reasonably price which is a bonus."

Tracy said: "These straighteners are the best I’ve ever had. The last two I bought were much more expensive and didn’t leave my hair looking as good as with these. I’m very very impressed with them."

Some customers had some issues however, and claimed the straighteners had broken after a few months. Cassandra wrote: "Only got these straighteners four months and already one of the plates does not heat." Tanya Star added: "Very dissatisfied with this straightener it burnt all the ends of my hair even with heat protection spray."

Boots has also lowered the price of the Remington Shine Therapy Advanced Ceramic Hair Straighteners from £79.99 to £21.50 - so still slightly more than what Amazon is offering. Also at Boots, shoppers can get BaByliss Elegance 235 Hair Straighteners for £32.99, down £67.01 from £100.

Elsewhere, Amazon has slashed the price of the GHD Original - Hair Straightener to £98.99 - down from £129.99. The Remington Shea Soft Hair Straightener is also down to £17.99. The Ceramic Hair Straighteners for Women have 22 percent off and are now £25.89. For those with thicker hair, GHD currently has its Black Friday sale on - and includes the GHD Max Hair Straightener, which costs £149.99.
