A BMW flipped onto its roof after leading police on a high speed chase on the M62.
Officers were on patrol just before 11pm on Wednesday when they spotted a silver BMW travelling at high speed on Childwall Valley Road towards Roby Road. Merseyside Police said following a police pursuit the silver BMW crashed into a barrier on Bowring Park Road, which is at the end of the M62, close to The Rocket pub.
Two men, aged 44 and 36, were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs. One man was taken to hospital with a serious injury which is not believed to be life threatening, police said.

He remains in hospital receiving treatment. Another man suffered a slight injury and is now in police custody to be interviewed. Road closures were in place at junction 4 and 5 of the M62 while emergency services worked at the scene.
The motorway reopened at around 5.30am on Thursday. The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
