Erling Haaland's latest injury has been described as 'not serious' and he is expected to be fit to face Liverpool this weekend.
City welcome Jurgen Klopp's side to the Etihad on Saturday lunchtime, with just one point separating the two clubs in the table. Haaland has been in terrific form this season and leads the Premier League goalscoring charts with 13 goals from 12 games.
However, doubts emerged earlier this week about whether the forward would feature against the Reds after it was confirmed that he would miss Norway's European Championship qualifier against Scotland at Hampden Park on Sunday night after a recurrence of an ankle injury.

But according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Haaland's injury is not serious, and he will be fit for this weekend’s showdown. Writing on X, he said: “Understand Erling Haaland’s injury is not serious and he will be fit for City vs Liverpool. Haaland will not risk to play vs Scotland after his problem but he’ll be regularly back for Man City."
Speaking to TV2 about Haaland’s injury, Norway's team doctor Ola Sand said: “The injury is not serious, but he is in so much pain and somewhat restricted that the Scotland game comes a little too early.
“It was much of the same that happened against Bournemouth a week-and-a-half ago. He has had it before too.
“He gets a slight twist in his ankle, where he is a bit vulnerable. It hurts a lot right away, and then it goes away pretty quickly. Then we'll see tomorrow how he is then.”
