The Liverpool Christmas markets are officially back in full swing.
Hundreds of guests gathered at St George's Plateau this weekend for the markets' return. Everywhere you look you're surrounded by delicious food from all over the world, warm mulled wine to wash it all down, and no shortage of stunning artisan craft stalls perfect for gifting this Christmas.
The markets would be nothing without the people behind them with many returning year after year to provide the goods to a new wave of customers.

For some, this is their first big soiree in Liverpool but the notion remains the same: Liverpool's Christmas markets are a place of community and festive cheer.

Kellie Hamilton of Bubble Tea said the Christmas markets have always been a creative and friendly place to be. "Everyone's so happy and it's not often it happens so I love coming back here year after year".

Amelia Parr of Artifactually is a new addition to the markets, bringing with her a stall stacked with sparkling and glistening goodies. "It's our first year but Liverpool likes a lot of bling so we're excited to see how we do!"

Noble's Kitchen's head honcho, Adam Noble, is in charge of serving up hundreds of bowls of Scouse a day. Following on from a whirlwind two weeks at Eurovision, he said: "It's a totally different feeling. The markets are much more of a community than the festival feeling and it's really nice to be a part of".

Inderjit and Kush Sangha are the proud owners of Hats and Accessories and although they've been trading for years across the country, Liverpool's Christmas markets are an entirely new experience. "It's like chalk and cheese. It's completely different and new for us but it's been amazing so far".

Kelly Murray is another new face on the scene, in charge of delivering the ale at The Old Cider Shed. "It's been cold but good. I'm so happy with everything so far and I think we'll definitely be back next year!"

Riverside Craft Spirits stall holder Sophie Wilson is a regular to the markets, bringing with her bottles perfect for gifting. "We started the businesses years ago and it's been really popular. We see the same people coming back year after year so it's nice to think you're a part of people's lives in some way".
