The organisers of Liverpool Christmas Markets have said individual traders charge their own prices at the festive event.
This year's markets opened on Saturday, November 18 as massive crowds turned out to stroll through the stalls and rides on offer for 2023. The ECHO posted the full price list on Facebook, and people took to the comments to share their opinions.
Some of the prices on offer include a Classic Mulled Wine for £6.50, 175ml of Red wine for £7.00, £6.50 for a pint of beer and £4.50 for a Tequila Rose Shot. Some of the ECHO audience said that it was “to be expected” for the prices to be of that range, arguing that these are similar prices to venues in the city centre.

However, others have complained about the prices, arguing that the drinks are too expensive. The ECHO asked the organisers about how the prices are set at the Liverpool Christmas Markets and they told us it is down to each individual seller. A spokesperson said: "We do not dictate what independent stall providers charge.
"This is because we cannot begin to know what an independent/small business costs to make his/her products are. Every single trader across the UK will have different suppliers, pay their staff different salaries, have different running costs etc."
They added: "Everyone who supports a small businesses or independent trader knows that they do not have the same buying power or supplier choice as many bigger conglomerates. If you follow the news then everyone also knows there is a rising costs crisis"
This was something echoed by people commenting on the ECHO's initial food and drinks prices story with some talking about the overheads and wages for each stall. The organisers were also keen to point out if people found similar products elsewhere but at different prices it might simply be due to "different cost sheet for their ingredients, power and staff".
