Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is aiming to emulate Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan forward has enjoyed a successful start to his second season at Anfield. Fan favourite Nuinez has clocked up 13 goal contributions in 17 games for the Reds, including his unforgettable brace away at Newcastle.
The 24-year-old added to his goal tally during the international break, scoring in Uruguay’s 2-0 victory over Argentina. Among the players in the Uruguay squad is former Liverpool striker Suarez, who celebrated Nunez’s goal with the Reds striker on the sideline. The veteran striker, now playing for Gremio, has been recalled to the national team setup and Nunez has enjoyed learning from the 36-year-old.

"Celebrating with Luis is something very nice and special," Nunez said, as reported by El Pais. "He is the nine of Uruguay, the one who made history. I always try to follow in his footsteps."
"Luis is very important for this group that we have. He is a player with a lot of experience that he already had a lot in the national team. It's nice that he is here, that he contributes to the [younger] ones and that we learn from him."
It is not just Suarez who has been passing on his knowledge to the Liverpool striker, though. Uruguay are coached by former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa and the manager has been instructing him to run in behind defences.
"He is a coach who has things very clear. He asks us to apply strong pressure, all together from the back to the front. What he tells us we try to apply on the playing field and that is what we have been doing," Nunez continued.
"What caught my attention the most is that (he asked me to) run behind the centre-backs. It is a very big demand for a forward. But I am adapting to the game that Marcelo wants. I try to apply what he asks of me."
