Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram has been recommended to Real Madrid after links with a move to Liverpool.
The 22-year-old is a rising star in Ligue 1 as he continues to flourish as part of Francesco Farioli’s side. Thuram, who was capped by France last season, has made 10 appearances during Nice’s impressive start to the season, which sees them sit secnd in the table after 12 games.
Liverpool were touted with a move for Thuram during their midfield overhaul in the summer, with Jurgen Klopp bringing in four new signings. However, football agent Oscar Damiani has revealed that he previously pushed for Real Madrid to sign the France international.

“Khephren is a very technical player and plays all over the pitch . He has more class but less strength than his brother,” Damiani, the former agent of Thuram’s father Lilian, told Gianluca Di Marzio. “Although he is very tall, he still has to grow muscularly. However, French football is very physical and this is helping him improve. Nice is a perfect context for him as good football develops there.
“Where would I see Khephren well? At Real Madrid. I recommended him to Carlo Ancelotti.”
While Khephren’s older brother Marcus opted to join Inter Milan as a free agent in the summer, the younger Thuram chose to stick with Nice. The midfielder explained his decision at a press conference earlier this month, insisting that he was keen to continue his development with the French side.
He said: "I think I’ve started the season well. The team has of course had a very good start to the season. I have developed aspects of my game. Regarding what happened in the transfer window, I decided to stay.
"I wanted to continue to progress at Nice, and progress as a player at this club. Honestly, it made me happy to be linked to all these clubs left, right and centre. It shows I’m doing the right things but as I said, I knew I wanted to stay here."
