Merseyside Police
Merseyside Police is the force responsible for policing the Merseyside and Liverpool region. The service area is 647 square kilometres with a population of around 1.5million. The force was formed in 1974, taking over from the Liverpool and Bootle Constabulary. The six Basic Command Units are Liverpool North, Liverpool South, Sefton, Wirral, St Helens and Knowsley.
