People in tears after 'emotional' night in city centre bar
Hundreds gathered at The Jacaranda
The Beatles' final song, Now and Then, has been released.
Featuring musical contributions from all four members of the group - including guitar recorded by the late George Harrison in 1995 and vocals by John Lennon drawn from the song’s original late-70s demo - the track has been shelved for decades. Now and Then, written and sung by the late John Lennon, was first developed and worked on by Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
Four decades on from when it began to be comprised, it has now been finished by Paul and Ringo. Yesterday, November 2, fans were be able to hear the track in all its glory after AI technology brought the standards up to scratch.

And Jacaranda Records were among those to host a listening party at 2pm in the city. It was emotional for a number of Beatles fans, with the song leaving some in tears.. The Jac was founded by Allan Williams who was known for being the Fab Four’s first manager. He leased an old watch repair shop and transformed it into a coffee bar where John Lennon, Stuart Sutcliffe and Paul McCartney were known to be frequent customers.
On their Facebook page, The Jacaranda Club posted: "Now and Then, what a beautiful moment! Hundreds gathered at The Jacaranda to hear The Beatles’ last song Now and Then for the first time.
"23,039 days have passed since The Beatles played their first gig, yet today people stood in the very same venue and listened to new music by the band. Try and tell us magic isn’t real!"
Here are a number of photos from The Jacaranda. To find out more about Now and Ten, visit the official Beatles website here.
