Tuebrook
Named after a spring which now largely runs underground Tuebrook lies to the east of Liverpool city centre. The oldest surviving home is Tuebrook House which dates back to the early 17th century. Grade 1-listed St John the Baptist Church is home to a rare set of eight bells while the now-demolished Lister Drive power station at one point supplied electricity to almost the whole of the city. Tuebrook borders Newsham Park - a 121-acre Victorian park which is home to the grade II-listed Seaman's Orphanage and Newsham House where Queen Victoria once stayed.
